Netanyahu: “Pressure on Hezbollah will help promote hostage release deal”

Tonight (Monday to Tuesday), the security cabinet met. During this meeting, which lasted four hours, no decisions were taken but the ministers were informed of the latest developments on the northern front and the ongoing ‘Northern Arrows’ operation in Lebanon.

Prime Minister Netanyahu explained that the central goal of this operation is to disconnect the link between the Lebanese front and the Gazan front that Nasrallah established as early as October 8. However, Netanyahu told the ministers that he believes that pressure on Hezbollah could help promote an agreement to release the hostages, since Hamas would see that it is failing to provoke a generalized war and would therefore be more inclined to accept compromises.

The ministers praised the security forces for their actions and called for Hezbollah to be hit hard, especially since Israel currently enjoys American support.

During the cabinet meeting, it was made clear that Israel has no intention of starting a larger war at the moment, but all options are on the table.
