The authors of the initiative believed that the protection of valuable biotopes in Switzerland was not going far enough. They wanted the cantons to be involved more in species protection, in order to preserve vulnerable landscapes and sites.

The polls on the biodiversity initiative were mostly quite close. But as the Sunday of the vote approaches, the opponents of the initiative seem to be gaining ground.

In Switzerland, occupational pension provision (2^e pillar or LPP) serves as financial security for retirement in addition to the AVS (1^is The new reform of the BVG included measures to ensure that many low-income people would receive a higher pension later. To achieve this, employees and employers would have had to pay higher contributions each month.

The results of the polls on the reform of the LPP in recent weeks have varied. Nevertheless, opponents of the reform have always managed to gain the upper hand. Things are therefore looking difficult for this project wanted by the Confederation.
