YouTuber Experimentboy faces up to ten months in prison

Baptiste Mortier-Dumont, alias Experimentboy on YouTube, did not show up for his trial at the Val de Briey judicial court on Tuesday, September 17. However, six young teenagers filed a complaint against him. The YouTuber with a million subscribers is being prosecuted for corruption of minors aged 15 and under, for acts committed between 2016 and 2018. He has been under the yoke of an in-depth investigation for four long years. Experimentboy also has tens of thousands of followers on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, adds Numerama, which revealed the case in 2020.

“It went very quickly in the sexual register”

Six young teenagers filed a complaint against him. They reported messages, photos and videos of a sexual nature requested by the YouTuber, while they were under his influence. Thus, one of them, 13 years old at the time of the events, recounted at the trial how his idol had contacted him, after a tweet from the teenager. “It was the best day of my life,” he confided. He contacted me to chat, and as I watched his videos, I was impressed., and then it very quickly went into the sexual register.” The teenager then explains that he then had to masturbate on video, “I was only 13 years old.”

According to Bleu, the young complainant was present at the trial, accompanied by his parents and relatives. During their hearings, another teenager had told the police how the YouTuber threatened to commit suicide if the boy stopped their exchanges. “It’s mob justice,” replied the defense lawyer, while lawyer Maître Thomas Kremser, for the Children’s Foundation, described this case of corruption of minors as a case of “pedophilia.” “We are dealing with a case of pedophilia, with sectarian, fanatical facts, a hold. There is the influence of popularity and a climate of force, by a dangerous person. He subjected the victims to the game of silence and shame.” he said precisely, according to Mediapart, which was at the trial. Although more evidence would have been needed to establish guilt, mentioned the YouTuber’s lawyer, who noted the long time for this trial, and no exploitation of computer equipment.
