With Antoine Griezmann scoring and providing the assists, Atlético de Madrid made a good start to the new Champions League by winning at the last minute at home (2-1) against RB Leipzig on the first day on Thursday.
The Germans opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a Benjamin Seskomore Antoine Griezmann equalized in the 28th minute. It was not until the 90th minute that Jose Maria Gimenez gives victory to the Spanish.

The RB Leipzig had started very strongly. But after a period where neither team wanted to give themselves up, the Rojiblancos moved up a gear, driven by a Griezmann who was very fit and confident, successively in recovery, construction and finishing.

It took until the final minute of regulation time for Griezmann to provide an assist to his striker Giménez. The Uruguayan international headed the ball home, unleashing thunder in the Metropolitano stadium.
