PPG LINQ Digital Paint Ecosystem Receives Innovation Award at Automechanika

It all started in 2019 with the Moonwalk automated shade mixer. PPG was then entering the digital era of automotive painting. Five years later, the manufacturer has an entire connected ecosystem, with its PPG LINQ Color and PPG VisualizID software and its PPG DigiMatch spectrophotometer. This set, now placed under the common name of PPG LINQEast ” truly a complete digital solution in a market where optimizing material usage and efficiency is so important. ” These words were spoken by Jason Moseley, Managing Director of IBIS Worldwide and member of the jury of the ceremony of the Automechanika Innovation Award. Because PPG’s digital ecosystem received this same trophy in mid-September 2024 at the German automotive aftermarket show.

Digital rhymes with sustainability and appeal

Highlighting technological developments that bring something significant to the automotive industry market, the Automechanika Innovation Award is symbolically important to PPG. It demonstrates our commitment to innovation, excellence and sustainability in the retouching industry. In addition, the deployment of digital tools allows us to create a better working environment and to attract the younger generation in the industry “, said Jérôme Zamblera, PPG’s vice-president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, in a press release.

With its digital ecosystem, PPG promises body repairers the automation of routine tasks and optimizing the use of resources. The risk of errors, and therefore of rework, is also reduced thanks to the applications and monitoring enabled by the software. This set finally makes it possible to reduce waste and processing time. Note that PPG LINQ must be able to adapt to different body sizes.
