A Moroccan delegation from the Ministry of Equipment and Water is participating in the 8th edition of India Water Week, inaugurated Tuesday in New Delhi, to address global water resource management issues. Led by Omar Chafki, the delegation includes several Moroccan experts to discuss with more than 5,000 participants on topics such as water security and resilience to climate change.

At the opening, Indian President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the need for inclusive and sustainable water management, calling for international cooperation to address water scarcity. The event provides an opportunity to discuss challenges related to irrigation, water infrastructure, as well as water risk management in the context of climate crisis.

Morocco and India had already strengthened their partnership with the signing of a memorandum of understanding in 2022, covering integrated water resources management, prevention of natural disasters, and adaptation to climate change.
