Estelle Mossely candidate for the presidency of the FFB: “professional boxing is sick”

The Olympic champion Estelle Mossely said she had put her name forward for the presidency of the French Boxing Federation.

Via his Instagram accountMossely, 32, has made his candidacy official for the elections which will take place on December 14.

“The situation of boxing in is not satisfactory »Mossely said. “The clubs suffer from a lack of resources and the persistent lack of consideration of volunteer leaders. In some areas, the lack of infrastructure is glaring. Amateur boxers are seriously lacking in competitions and professional boxing is sick. In the coming weeks, I will initiate a participatory approach by meeting with departmental committees and clubs, consulting them and listening to them in order to understand their needs and expectations.”

“It is not a trivial act to want to be President of the French Boxing Federation. It is a commitment that must be kept, with humility, respect and determination.”

The current president, Dominique Netowho has been in office since 2021, will also run to try to secure a second term.

Mossely, Olympic champion in 2016 at the Rio Olympics, then began a professional career where she won 11 times and drew 1. In 2019, the native of Créteil in Val-de- became IBO world champion in the -60kg category and defended her title 4 times before surrendering the belt in 2023.
