After two months out of action due to injury, Lionel Messi has returned stronger than ever, said Luis Suarez, his Inter Miami teammate.
On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Messi scored twice for Inter Miami in their 3–1 win over the Philadelphia Union.
With these goals, the Argentine captain is on 27 goals. He is just two goals away from equalling Gonzalo Higuaín, who has scored 29 goals for the club.
Thus, at 37, Messi is the second highest scorer in the history of the club, which he joined last year.
He has scored two goals in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, 10 goals in the League Cup and 15 in Major League Soccer.
