Michel Barnier fine-tunes his casting, the opposition maintains the pressure

PS deputies will not prevent the examination of the impeachment text, but will vote against its adoption

The PS deputies decided yesterday to vote in favour of examining in committee the LFI proposal for the dismissal of Emmanuel Macron, but will then vote against its adoption in the Assembly, considering the procedure “doomed to failure” and likely to give a form of “legitimacy” to the head of state.

Their choice, made after a debate of nearly three hours, should be formalized this morning by the socialist representatives at the bureau of the Assembly, its highest executive body. The NFP holds a small majority (12 seats out of 22), which should allow the text to pass this stage.
