Fear and sadness at the college of Elias, stabbed to death in Paris for his laptop

“It’s very weird”

For the adolescent’s comrades, the time is still stupor. “This weekend, I was in my room when I heard my mother screaming. She came to ask me if I knew an Elias. I met him every day at the CDI or in recess. It’s very weird to say that I would never see it again, ”said a student modestly.

All were informed of his death during the weekend via an email from the establishment. Some have learned the news via the media or social networks : “I watched several Tiktok videos that were talking about it. I was shocked, ”rewinds a teenager. Friday, January 24, around 8 p.m., the victim came out of a football training in the 14ᵉ arrondissement with a friend, when two young people threatened him with a knife to steal her phone. Hailed in the shoulder, the teenager succumbed to his injuries the next day.

“He was very friendly and very appreciated”

For these young students, the sudden death of the victim for such a futile reason is a source of anxiety. “It is worrying to say that by leaving us, we can get stabbed for his phone,” wonders a middle school. “It’s really not normal to kill for that. It shouldn’t happen again, ”says another. The two authors of the deadly altercation, aged 17 and 16 and already known to justice, are still in police custody.

Within the establishment’s teaching team, emotion is also lively after this drama. “It’s tragic, I think a lot about the family,” said a teacher. The latter had the victim for several years in his class: “He was a very fulfilled kid. He was very friendly and much appreciated within the establishment ”.

A listening unit set up

Less than two days after this murder, a listening unit has been set up within the Montaigne college. The latter is made up of nurses, doctors and psychologists, detailed the rector of the Paris Academy Bernard Beignier at the microphone of BFMTV. “We will see how the students will be able to address this cell, especially in the long term,” he said. The civil servant said they also went to the establishment to support the staff.

And tributecould be returned to the young college student in the coming days. For the moment, bouquets of white flowers have been deposited in front of the college.
