before Mbappé and Real Madrid, Brest overwhelms Le Havre

A few days before hosting Kylian Mbappé’s Real, Stade Brestois, much superior to its opponent of the day, has a third consecutive victory in the league.

In the Norman gloom, did the job. Sunday at the Océane stadium, the Bretons firmly won (0-1) against a dismal Le Havre side, who only decided to play for a quarter of an hour, at the very end of the match. This is too little for a desperate HAC which (almost) did not exist. Eric Roy’s men, beaten by Shakhtar Donetsk (2-0) last Wednesday in the Champions League, did not fall into the Norman trap and left with the three points.

The “Pirates”, heading towards Real

The “Ty Zefs” attacked the match from the right end, cornering Le Havre in their area in the first act. A good surface fox, Ludovic Ajorque logically opened the scoring for the Finistériens (25th) shortly before the half-hour mark, taking advantage of an atrocious blunder by Oussama Targhalline in his area.

Stade Brestois could have significantly increased the score and even led by four goals if Roman Del Castillo and his friends had been more clinical against the valiant Gautier Lloris and Mathieu Gorgelin, authors of numerous saves. The first notably cleared the ball three times on his line and the second, in the goal in place of Arthur Desmas, was saved six times. Without that, the HAC would have suffered a terrible humiliation in front of its public.

The latter tried to rebel, notably through André Ayew and Antoine Joujou, at the very end of the match when the Breton block, in management, fell back several meters. Due to a lack of technical accuracy, like captain Arouna Sangante, Yanis Zouaoui or even Oussama Targhalline – grossly at fault on the Breton goal – their rare attempts were not very worrying and unsuccessful for the opposing goalkeeper.

A level unworthy of an elite team, strongly resembling that of a “little thumb” from the Coupe de . By suffering a 14th defeat in 19 L1 matches this season, the Normans continue to sink further into the abyss of the ranking, in penultimate place (13 points). For their part, the Finisterians are back in the Europe zone, in 8th place. The Bretons can now focus on the (more than) expected reception of Kylian Mbappé’s Real Madrid on Wednesday for the last day of C1, to, perhaps, achieve the feat.
