After the ladies final won by Madison Keys against Aryna Sabalenkawhich of the two best players in the world will manage to win the coronation at theAustralian Open ? This Sunday, Jannik Sinner will be opposed to Alexander Zverev to retain his title. Both players feel ready to lift the trophy. Sinner will lose nearly 700 points if he loses the match. Sinner in the final without difficulty
Jannik Sinner was never really in difficulty during this fortnight. With a draw within his reach, the Italian did wonderfully. With only two sets lost in the entire tournament, the world number one is more than ready to win his third Grand Slam title. The Italian had to struggle against Tristan Schoolkate in the second round and against Holger Rune in the round of 16, dropping a set in each match. He was able to raise the bar for the rest of the tournament, and that’s Alex de Minaur et Ben Shelton who paid the price during the rest of the competition.
Zverev finally crowned?
To reach the final, Alexander Zverev had to dismiss three members of the top 15 before facing Sinner. Like his future opponent in the final, he dropped two short sets before reaching his third Grand Slam final. Ugo Humbert et Tommy Paul are the only two to have taken a set from him. Tennis could have had a prestigious semi-final against Novak Djokovicbut unfortunately the latter was forced to abandon, propelling Zverev in the final at Melbourne. The world number 2 is probably playing the best tennis of his career and that could be rewarded with a magnificent trophy this Sunday if he can beat the defending champion, Jannik Sinner.
