With the arrival of the storm Éowyn, Météo-France placed new departments in vigilance jaunemainly from the North to Vendée, including Sarthe, for this Friday January 24.
Sarthe on yellow alert
The vent could be locally violent in Sarthe. Already, Thursday January 23, the gusts could reach 50 to 55 km/h in the afternoon. After another restless night, on Friday, peaks were announced up to 60 km/h in the afternoon.
But it is for “rain and flood” that the department was placed on yellow alert. It will be valid until Saturday3 a.m.
-Also be careful of the risk of flooding
Just like at the beginning of the month, Sarthe is also once again under the threat of flooding.
Yellow vigilance has just been activated concerning a single watercourse, for the moment: the Sarthe riverupstream of Le Mans, to its source in the Orne.
Very strong winds forecast for Sunday
The disruption is expected to remain active until at least Sunday, January 26. The rain will continue to fall on Saturday, continuously or in the form of showers, during the day. But wind speeds should decrease significantly, according to Météo-France.
After this lull, the gusts should return in force on Sunday, with peaks up to 60 to 70 km/h in the evening and even 80 to 85 km/h during the night from Sunday to Monday.
