Missing since Wednesday January 22 at midday, the bodies of Maëva and Martin, two young people aged 20 in a relationship, were found the next day, nine kilometers from their home. The first elements of the investigation indicate a double homicide.

One day after their disappearance was reported, Thursday 23, the bodies of Maëva and Martin were found in the town of Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, near Deauville in Calvados. They were both aged 20, reports BFMTV. According to the first elements of the investigation delivered by the Caen public prosecutor, there is little room for doubt. Their disappearance actually hid a double homicide.
“Of criminal origin”
Contacted by Le Parisien, prosecutor Joël Garrigue is categorical: “The first findings made on the two victims make it possible to establish that their death was of criminal origin. One of the bodies has significant wounds on the face and the other has traces likely to correspond to bullet impacts They will undergo an autopsy in the coming days.” He then adds: “The circumstances in which these two young people were killed and the reasons why they were killed are not known and no hypothesis has been ruled out.”reports the magistrate.
Found nine kilometers from home, Maëva and Martin were a couple and had lived together for two years in the town of Trouville-sur-Mer. They had not given any news to their loved ones since midday on Wednesday. According to several sources, they left their home at the end of the morning by taking their car to go shopping. Without news of them, the young woman’s mother and other relatives together alerted the gendarmerie who quickly deployed their search resources. Maëva’s car was found locked in a roadside parking lot. The young woman’s handbag was still there, and the couple’s two cell phones were found in a trash can a few meters from the vehicle.
