Suspicious fire in a housing building in Sept-Îles

The firefighters intervened for a fire in a basement of a building on Comeau Street in Sept-Îles.

They were called around 6:30 am this Friday, January 24.

The building was evacuated by preventive measures due to the presence of smoke. The residents were able to return to their accommodation following the intervention of the firefighters. No one was injured, but an ambulance was requested on site for an assessment.

The fire is considered suspect and the scene was transferred to the Sûreté du Québec for investigation, says Joël Sauvé, director of the fire safety service in the city of Sept-Îles.
