The Sanguinet History, Memory and Heritage association, which has 19 members and around twenty supporters, has just held its first general meeting. Saturday January 18, President Jean-Claude Laffargue remembered the creation, in early 2024, of what will allow the memory of the village to bear witness to the past to younger generations.
The website is being built thanks to Gérard Lecourt, who designed and supplied it with data collected here and there, with the agreement of their authors. At the end of the meeting, everyone was able to see the numerous documents and photos on the site. “The association now has high-performance equipment for its activities, including two dictaphones to collect testimonies, a scanner to freeze documents and a hard drive to archive them securely,” underlined Jean-Claude Laffargue.

If, according to the president, the association has not yet reached its cruising speed and works in fits and starts, its members are attached to the history of the village and to listening to people who hold the memory of Sanguinet . “Come and listen to them, because we won’t be able to transcribe it,” he suggested, mentioning that the important thing today is to make the association known and, above all, to communicate on the results of its work. by turning to vectors other than digital which some do not master.
-“We could explore several avenues such as the media library, schools and tourism with, for example, greeters to tell groups of tourists about the village or QR Codes on hiking trails to explain local traditions through the remains of the past, among other things, bread ovens, pig pens, history, diversity and fragility of the Landes forest,” explained the head of HMPS.
Despite a full board of directors, Jean-Claude Laffargue specified the possibility of being integrated into it but without being able to participate in decisions. Finally, the 2025 contribution was set the same as last year, i.e. 10 euros.
