After his team’s 4-2 victory against Manchester City, PSG coach Luis Enrique was delighted with the character of his troops, particularly the ability to believe in themselves.
How did your team turn this match around and what did Dembélé’s entry change?
“I don’t really know. I think the match was very intense, very difficult. In the first half, it was very competitive with two teams wanting the ball. We scored the goal at the end of the first half which could have given us an advantage but ultimately the VAR canceled it. We started the second half in the worst possible way by conceding these two goals and it was tricky at that moment but this team has faith and believes in itself. I’ve seen a lot of positive things for some time, the players don’t give up, they fight until the end. The supporters were exceptional as always. I am very happy. »
What is the symbolism of this victory against your friend Pep Guardiola, is it a founding act for your PSG?
-“PSG has been, since last season, a royal team. This team has nothing to envy, it plays, it attacks. We may or may not have good results, but we believe in ourselves and the level of the players was sensational today. Physically, in terms of intensity, concentration, self-sacrifice, with the supporters too, it was a great victory that we dedicate to them. »
