Latest app update references Tesla’s upcoming Supercharger drive-in diner

Tesla has built a Supercharger drive-thru, where EV drivers will be able to order food and drinks and watch movies on two large screens while their cars charge, complete with waiters on roller skates. The massive facility on Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, is nearing completion, and Tesla has reportedly filed for permits for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as the plumbing.

In the meantime, careful observers have found references to this new business in the latest Tesla app update 4.41.0. The company included a Tesla Diner UI and corresponding icon in the release. Further indications in the update coding are “DinerHomeScreen”, “profile_settings_diner_description” and “View menu & amenities”

These results may suggest that Tesla has made significant progress, but the company has not announced when the drive-thru Supercharger will officially open. Additionally, the wildfires that ravaged California could impact Tesla’s plans.

Tesla installed the main gate and several Supercharger cabins. Drivers will be able to charge 24 hours a day, but cinema screens will only operate from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Other gems discovered in the code indicate that an insurance discount related to Tesla’s Fully Self-Driving (FSD) is in the works. Additionally, Cybertruck buyers will be disappointed to find that automatic tonneau covers and AC power outlets may not be standard on all trims.
