Aryna Sabalenka suffered but nevertheless won her quarter-final at the Australian Open tennis tournament. Tuesday in Melbourne, the world No.1, who is a double title holder, beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, 32nd in the world, 6-2, 2-6 and 6-3.

Facing the 33-year-old Russian, who had won two of their three meetings, Sabalenka easily dominated the first set before losing the second without discussion against an opponent who no longer made any mistakes. The Belarusian was again led 1-2 following a second break in the last set.
