the essential
The AOCB won an improved victory, but without glory, lacking control, relying on individual exploits or happy situations, this Sunday against Colayrac.
Caudecoste 38 – Colayrac 5
Despite the cold and a Fédérale 1 poster a few kilometers away, the classico attracted a large crowd at Beaujardin, where friends from both camps competed tirelessly on a thawed and sticky surface, to the point of greatly hindering the game. “It was the same for both teams,” explains Adrian Lougnon, the Colayracais leader afterwards.
AOCB opened the scoring with a kick to follow in the corner deserted by the visiting defense. The rebound was favorable to Kilian Pradines, grabbing the oval to score the try between the posts (7-0, 4th). The Colayracais reacted, and caused repeated local faults, but the “blue and red” stumbled against an established defense.
On the other hand, the conquest in the Caudecostois touch was less prolific. Thus, a classic attack became difficult to develop. Recovering a Colayracais throw lobbing the lineout, scrum half Rémi Etcheverri rushed into the opposing territory. Flanker Quentin Cances came outside to create the surplus. The try was unstoppable. Pradines, with a ball heavy with sticky mud, did not convert (12-0, 24th). The COC did not give up, in the wake of an energetic Dimitri Jimenez. Center Théo Lorenzato tore the local curtain apart, before being stopped by fullback Jordan Abril (39th). The AOCB would close the first act with a technical test: pass at the foot of Pierre Mazzochi in the corner for the test by Kévin Ory (19-0, 40th). The AOCB had the bonus in its lemon pocket. Coming with a squad reduced by absences, and injured in the heads from the previous setback, the COC lost Vincent Daillé (42nd) to injury, and closed the ranks. Undisciplined and clumsy, the Caudecostois were unable to string together playing times. Winger Enzo Gorostidi took advantage of a short moment of relaxation to score a try (24-0, 64th). Colayrac struggled with frontal play. Pradines also took advantage of the slow movement to intercept and make a try (31-0, 69th). The COC, with heart, wanted to save honor. Sébastien Mages’ clearance kick was blocked by Dimitri Jimenez. The visiting eight flattened the try (31-5, 74th). Mages was quickly forgiven by intercepting a pass, gave all the energy of his battery, then found Gorostidi in support for the final try (38-5, 80th).
