After an avalanche of complaints from the community, what is arguably the most significant patch since the official release of EA Sports FC 25 is now available, as it appears the team has listened to player requests and implemented just over 50 changes that promise to improve the title’s gameplay.
FC25 gameplay greatly improved in 2025?
This update brings many changes and improvements to the main gaming systems. On the other hand, it is already available and you can download it on your usual gaming platform. Below is a list of relevant changes so you can take a look and judge for yourself:
- Significant improvements to passing, shooting, defense and goalkeeping.
- Improved offensive fluidity to move the ball more easily.
Reduced AI tackles and interceptions. - Fixed issues such as defenders catching up to dribblers too often.
- Updated club search in Football Ultimate Team.
Other notable changes on FC25
- Each player’s speed stats have been adjusted, as one of the most criticized issues by the community was the ease with which slower defenders caught up to faster attackers.
- On attack, AI-controlled characters will now make smarter runs to cross the offside line, better assess key spaces and positions in the opponent’s box, and attackers, especially in roles such as that of center forward or striker, will move in a more active and efficient manner.
- The times when the player who loses the ball gets it back in the second has been significantly reduced. Defenders who play the “Anticipation” style of play will now be able to direct the ball towards better placed players after a steal, minimizing the risk of losing the ball again.
- Goalkeepers will be better placed to cover the near post, avoiding mistakes that could have cost unnecessary goals.
- To reward strategy and fast play, we will have faster and more precise passes, as we now have increased speed for normal direct passes, better accuracy for short passes to unmarked players and a significant improvement in semi-automatic assisted filtered passes.
- The effectiveness of shots inside the box has been improved. Normal and placed shots will now be more accurate and faster.
- In competitive matches, AI-controlled defenders will now be less effective at intercepting balls or marking shooting lines near the box.
- In addition, it will now be possible to search for players who meet the conditions for obtaining Rush points directly from the interface, which will make it easier to form teams for the Rush club.
