Final matches of the group stage of the CAF Champions League this Sunday January 19 and last ticket to be distributed for the quarter-finals. He returned to Mamelodi Sundowns, despite the victory of Raja Casablanca who no longer really had their destiny in their hands. AS FAR, for its part, finished at the top of group B.

Raja Casablanca won, but Raja Casablanca is eliminated, that is the harsh law of the group stages. That of the CAF Champions League ended this Sunday, with the last ticket for the quarter-finals to be distributed in Group B, where the suspense was intact. If FAR Rabat were already mathematically qualified and were only playing to see if they would finish first or second in the group, Mamelodi Sundowns and Raja had their futures at stake.

The calculation was simple, the Casablancais had to win, with the largest possible score, hoping for a defeat for the South Africans. Unfortunately for the former, if they won at home against Maniema Union (1-0) thanks to a penalty goal in a match poor in goals but very lively, the Mamelodi scratched a draw on its lawn against Rabat (1-1), thus preventing 100% Moroccan qualifications in group B.

The fact remains that the South Africans still experienced a little heat with the opponent’s equalizer in the last 10 minutes of the match, the end of the scenario could have been written differently. As for the Congolese Maniema, beaten by Raja, it is a very sad result at the end of the six matches of this group phase, with no victory on the clock and only three small points.
