In a highly anticipated clash, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are set to face each other in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season.

Spanish tennis player Alcaraz validated his ticket for the next round after a duel against Jack Draper. The match ended with Alcaraz leading two sets to zero, winning the sets with scores of 7-5 and 6-1, while Draper was forced to retire due to physical problems.

Later in the day, Djokovic took to the court, continuing his streak of dominant performances. The Serbian veteran won against Czech player Jiri Lehecka in full sets, with scores of 6-3, 6-4 and 7-6, concluding the last set with a tie-break at 7-4.

This next duel will mark the ninth meeting between the two players, Djokovic having won their last face-to-face, which took place during the final of the Olympic Games.
