The ceasefire agreement began this Sunday, January 19 in Israel and Hamas. In all, 33 Israeli hostages must be released within 6 weeks in exchange for the release of 737 Palestinian prisoners.
The armed wing of Hamas gave this Sunday, January 19, the identities of the first three Israeli hostages who must be released, fifteen months after the start of the war between Israel and the Islamist organization, on October 7, 2023. And this, in the framework of the ceasefire agreement which has just started at 9:15 a.m. GTM this Sunday.
In a press release, the organization specifies that the Al-Qassam brigades have decided to release prisoners Romi Gonen, Emily Damari and Doron Steinbrecher.
These three detainees, civilians, were among the 251 people kidnapped in Gaza on the day of the Hamas attack in Israel which caused the death of 1,200 people.
In detail, The first, Romi Gonen, is 24 years old. She was at the Tribe of Nova electronic music festival near the Gaza Strip when she was kidnapped. Le Parisien recalls that she was on the phone with her mother at the time of the attack and that she was injured by a shot and captured.

The second, Doron Steinbrecher, a 30-year-old veterinary nurse in poor health, was kidnapped while she was in her kibbutz Kfar Aza.
Finally, the third, Emily Damari, a 28-year-old Israeli-British woman, was also on the same kibbutz when she was kidnapped. She was shot in the hand and kidnapped, having grown up in London (where fans of the Tottenham football team of which she was a member often paid tribute to her) before moving to Israel to start a family. .
