Manchester United legend Denis Law dies

Former Manchester United and Manchester City striker Denis Law has died aged 84.

The only Scottish Ballon d’Or

The Scottish icon, the only Scot to ever win the Ballon d’Or (in 1964), scored 237 goals in 404 games for the Red Devils, placing him third in the history of the team behind Wayne Rooney and Bobby Charlton.

He also won two Premier Leagues in 1965 and 1967, as well as a Champions League in 1968.

“Manchester United are deeply saddened to share the following statement on behalf of the Law family: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our father Denis Law has sadly passed away. He fought a difficult battle, but he is now at peace. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to his well-being and care, in the past and more recently.” We know how much people supported and loved him and this love was always appreciated and made the difference. We thank you,” said the Red Devils press release.
