“It is the culmination of a lot of work, a lot of effort and a lot of concern,” reacts Patrick Klugman, lawyer and coordinator of the Freethem collective, Friday January 17 on franceinfo. Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday that the two Franco-Israelis Ofer Kalderon and Ohad Yahalomi were on the list of the first hostages to be released by Hamas, after the formalization on Wednesday of a three-phase agreement providing for a truce between Israel and Hamas from on Sunday, after more than a year of blockage.
The first release of hostages – provided for in the ceasefire agreement in Gaza between Israel and Hamas – held for more than 15 months, must take place on Sunday, according to the services of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “There are always doubts about who will come, who will return, and when and how. We know, a priori, that the two French hostages will not be released on Sunday. It would firstly be a question of freeing the women, humanitarian order”, explains Patrick Klugman.
“But in any case, we know that the French are concerned by the agreement of 33 that we are talking about today. But we have no guarantee of life, certainly not for both,” specifies the lawyer.
