Negotiations on the Luxair collective agreement are at a standstill

The LCGB and the OGBL announced that they had contacted the National Conciliation Office after the failure of negotiations in the renewal of the Luxair collective agreement.

Discussions have broken down between the unions and Luxair management in the context of the renewal of the collective agreement. The LCGB, the majority within the company, therefore announced on Friday January 17 that it had contacted the National Conciliation Office with the OGBL. In its press release, the union recalls that Luxair has negotiated its post-crisis recovery very well with 2.5 million passengers in 2023, a record for the carrier which should still be surpassed in 2024.

However, “management stubbornly refuses to get sufficiently close to the unions’ demands regarding salary improvements and working conditions for all staff,” deplores the LCGB, which recalls that these historic results are due to the efforts of all employees. “During the entire covid-19 pandemic and the post-covid recovery, staff were able to make considerable efforts and concessions allowing Luxair to overcome the various challenges,” recalls the union.

For the LCGB, it is therefore time for Luxair to invest “seriously” in its employees and to recognize their work in the next collective agreement.
