A bright spot in Manchester City’s gloomy season. Erling Haaland and the Citizens have reached an agreement for an extension of the Norwegian striker until 2034. The contract of the current 2nd top scorer in the Premier League ran until 2027 before this new signing which is particularly rare due to the duration of the period covered. Haaland will be 34 when his contract expires.
No specific amount was mentioned but The Athletic calls it “one of the most lucrative sports contracts of all time”. Since his arrival in England in 2022, Erling Haaland has already won the Championship twice and has largely contributed to the Champions League-Championship-Cup treble in 2023.
