In demonstration since the start of the Australian Open, Carlos Alcaraz dropped a set in the deciding game against the Portuguese Borges. But no problem for the world number 3 who was able to quickly set the record straight. Final score 6-2, 6-4, 6-7, 6-2. No problem, however, for the German Alexander Zverev who beat Jacob Fearnley 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
