Guest of the show 100% UBBon the airwaves ofHere Girondeour attack coach, Noel McNamaraspoke about what to expect from the Sharks, a team he knows well having trained them before arriving at UBB:
“I have a lot of experience with the Sharks. I know the players, they will want to react, to show something. The last time they came to Bordeaux, they won. There are already a lot of players who were there like
College, Mbonambi,
Security. They have a bit of experience coming here when it’s cold and Chaban is full. They had done the job.”
For him, the difference in climate between South Africa and the long journey will not be a subject, as South Africans are used to it:
“In South Africa you can play in Durban with 100% humidity and 30 degrees and the next week play in Cape Town with a lot of cold and the next week play at altitude in Pretoria and still have a different challenge. Players are used to changes in climate. They have a bit of experience too because they played the Rugby Championship and they go to Argentina, Australia and New Zealand. I don’t think there will be too much of a physical dimension, but of course traveling is not easy. They left Monday evening, they passed through Paris and then took a flight to Bordeaux. They did everything to prepare well and have a good match, give a good image on Sunday.”
