The Danish Clara Tauson reached the third round of the Australian Open in an expeditious manner, dominating the German Tatjana Maria without being worried by the score (6-2, 6-2) on Wednesday, at Melbourne Park.
Tauson, ranked 42nd in the WTA and recent winner of the Auckland tournament, will face the winner of the match between the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, seeded n°1, and the Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, scheduled to open on Rod Laver Arena.
The 22-year-old Danish Tennis player had dismissed seeded No. 29 Linda Noskova (5-7, 6-3, 6-4) during the previous round of the Australian Grand Slam. Maria, 90th in the world at the WTA, won against the American Bernarda Pera (7-6 [3]6-4).
