Without Giro or Tour de France in 2025, Cian Uijtdebroeks takes a step back to better get back on track

Uijtdebroeks will be among the leaders of a “white jersey” group within which Visma-Lease a Bike wants to develop its hopes. “The team wants us to be able to run offensively, and I also need to complete my apprenticeship. I want to race for victory this year, rather than for a place in the top 10. I want to learn a new leadership role and learn to conclude. Also, I would like to develop the qualities that must improve, if I want to one day be able to win a grand tour.”

Cian Uijtdebroeks’ season will begin on February 8 at the Tour of Oman. He will take part in two one-day races in before Tirreno-Adriatico and the Coppi and Bartali International Week, as well as the Tour de Romandie. After another stint in France, he will go to an altitude course to compete in the Tour of Slovenia and the Tour of Switzerland. A busy schedule therefore awaits him for this first part of the season, without the Tour of Italy.

If he will not yet race the Tour de France, the climber could line up for the Tour of Spain. “We will evaluate the situation after the first half of the season. First, I need to focus on my progress.”
