Apple TV update would not arrive before the end of 2025

The next hardware update for the Apple would not arrive before the end of this year 2025, says Mark Gurman on Bloomberg, about three years after the launch of the current generation in October 2022. This future model would arrive late the schedule initially planned, and this could have something to do with the postponement of Apple’s home automation screen with which it would present closely related functionalities. Mark Gurman does not go into details, but he does indeed mention that this next model of Apple TV “will be designed with Apple’s new smart home ecosystem in mind. »

This seems to point to support for features related to Apple Intelligence. If this is the case, then the Apple TV could take a big leap forward in terms of performance with the integration of the 17 Pro or A18 chip accompanied by 8 GB of RAM, while the current model makes do with the chip A15 with 4 GB RAM. Mark Gurman specifies that the Apple TV 2025 would also feature Apple’s first Wi-Fi chip. The schedule, however, raises questions: if Apple plans to integrate Apple Intelligence features into tvOS 19, it will not be possible to present them at WWDC next June in the absence of an Apple TV model allowing its support.
