A physical attack. Two journalists from the continuous news channel BFMTV were taken to the emergency room this Saturday, January 11, after being attacked on the sidelines of a duplex built in Évreux (Eure), town where a 14-year-old boy died on Friday evening.
A journalist from the channel was on site in pairs with another journalist, responsible for the images behind the camera. According to the channel, the two women were attacked midday following a duplex that took place during the 12 o’clock news.
They were attacked by passers-by who were in the street when they spoke. The images from the sequence confirm that the attack did not take place live, and was not broadcast on the channel’s channels.
“Very shocked”, the journalists will file a complaint
Contacted by Le Parisien, the channel reported that the duplex took place in front of a police station in Évreux, which allowed the police to intervene quickly and come to the aid of the victims. The two women were taken into care and taken to the emergency room to receive treatment. BFMTV speaks of “minor injuries”, which do not require hospitalization of the two women. However, they are “very shocked”.
In a press release, the RMC-BFM group channel refers to an “intolerable act”, which it “denounces with the greatest firmness”. She confirms to Le Parisien that she will file a complaint, just like the two journalists targeted. It has not been specified whether the perpetrators of this attack have yet been arrested.
