What future for the Ramstein group, the international coalition of military support for Ukraine?

Military aid to Ukraine at the heart of a new meeting this Thursday, January 9 at the American air base of Ramstein in Germany, in the presence of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the American Secretary at Lloyd Austin Defense. This meeting is being held in a very particular context, because in 10 days the American president-elect Donald Trump will return to the White House, and we do not know what the future of this Ramstein group will be.

This is the big question that Ukraine and its allies are asking themselves, because Donald Trump is not a strong supporter as was Joe Biden military aid to Ukraine. He even said during the electoral campaign that he could reduce or even eliminate this aid to force Ukraine to negotiate with the Russia.

Some participants in the meeting this Thursday, January 9, even wonder if this will not be the last time that Ukraine’s allies meet in Ramstein. This is the case of the Polish Minister of Defense who said yesterday to the Polish press: “ This could be the last of these meetings “, he declared, “ because the new American administration could propose a different format ».
