While Orange vigilance is losing ground, the yellow level is gaining ground and is even moving into the Occitanie region, this Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
The situation changes somewhat in the weather alert section, this Wednesday January 8, 2025. The orange level loses ground, but yellow wins, to the point of settle in Occitania.
Six minus one
Initially six in number, the departments affected by orange vigilance are now five. The North, Pas de Calais, Somme, Seine-Maritime and Calvados remains impacted. The first four for snow-ice, the last for floods. Oise, which was also mentioned at the start of the day, is no longer mentioned.
Yellow is essential… all the way to Occitania
Yellow level alerts continue to progress. 57 departments were first mentioned by Météo France. There are now 62. Until now spared, Occitanie is now one of the regions concerned by this vigilance. In small doses, however, since only the Lot is mentioned : it is yellow for risk of flooding.
What to expect?
As a reminder, Météo France spoke of a “expected snow episode between Haute-Normandie and Hauts-de-France”, while evoking a “significant flood risk to come on the middle Orne and downstream in Calvados”. To be continued!
