A new MRI at Cahors hospital in 2025
Following the departure offormer director Pierre Nogrette, Laurent Orsini has been acting since the end of November 2024. It was he who spoke during the wishes ceremony organized this Wednesday, January 8. The interim director took the opportunity to thank all hospital staff (caregivers, technicians, catering, security, etc.) and to give some figures: 616 babies born in the hospital maternity ward in 2024, one more than in 2023 ; an increase of 20,000 consultations per year since Covid, proof that the Cahors hospital center is “the pivot of care provision in the department”. And welcomed the new services created in 2024: the palliative care unit opened on October 7; the establishment of a regulated mobile geriatrics unit. And to announce the opening of a cardiology unit in 2025.
The Dr Thierry Debreux, president of the establishment medical commission (CME)discusses the health campus project and the creation of housing for interns, another attractive tool for the Cadurcian establishment. The CAC (Reception and Crisis Center), which will be managed by the Camille Miret Institute, will become a reality in 2025 with the start of work to develop this service next to the emergencies (this project has been in the works since several years). The head of the SAMU/Emergency Unit also announces the arrival of a new MRI in 2025 and the authorization for a second scanner.
The vows ceremony was marked by speeches from Jean-Luc Marx, as chairman of the supervisory boardand that of Quentin Delacour, new departmental director of the ARS (Regional Health Agency)who spoke of a “bold and innovative establishment” in reference to the new services created last year. Without avoiding the financial difficulties, he insisted on the attractiveness of the hospital center. “It is by developing a coherent care offer and strengthening a care pathway in the region that we will attract new medical personnel. The hospital center is a place of excellence. First of all, it is about strengthening its attractiveness. »
