Sunday January 5, 2025, André and Jacqueline Pizon gathered around them children and grandchildren on the occasion of their sixty years of marriage. “We met for the first time at the start of the school year in 1954,” remembers the couple. The marriage will be celebrated in Chail on November 12, 1964.
Two boys were born, Pascal, in 1965 and Dominique, in 1966. The family settled a year later in Parthenay, before returning to Chail. André Pizon will also be mayor from 1977 to 1983.
Jacqueline, certified in sewing, worked for a time in a clothing factory in Niort, then became an instructor at the Vitré housekeeping school. She will stop her professional activity to take care of the children.
André, an Arts et Métiers engineer, spent twenty years in business before setting up as an independent consulting engineer. He will also become a legal expert at the Poitiers Court of Appeal. Retired since 2004, he devotes himself to hunting, gardening and genealogy. He is also the author of three books devoted to his town.
