Murderer Mohamad Al Ballouz, who now identifies as Levana Ballouz, has been placed in a men’s detention facility, the Correctional Service of Canada confirmed Tuesday.

It is currently unknown whether this decision is final or transitional, because Levana Balloouz, who was sentenced to life in prison for the sordid murders of her partner and two children in September 2022, in Brossard, is in the classification period. , which means that correctional services are to determine in which facility she will serve her sentence.

Levana Ballouz was detained at the Leclerc women’s establishment in , pending the conclusion of the proceedings brought against her.

Remember that Levana Ballouz was sentenced to life in prison for the premeditated murders of her two boys – Eliam, 5 years old, and Zac, 2 years old – and the second degree murder of their mother, Synthia Bussières.

That evening, Levana Ballouz stabbed her partner 23 times, before suffocating her two children with a pillow. She then attempted suicide by drinking windshield washer fluid.

Levana Ballouz was also convicted of arson after trying to set fire to the family’s apartment following the murders.

In the judgment pronounced by Judge Eric Downs on December 20, the magistrate imposed a life prison sentence, without the possibility of release on bail for 25 years, for the premeditated murder of the two children.

For the unpremeditated murder of Synthia Bussières, Levana Ballouz was sentenced to life in prison, with no possibility of release for 20 years. Added to these sentences are 4 years in penitentiary for arson.

As in Canada the judicial sentences are concurrent, this means that they will all be served at the same time. Following this principle, Levana Ballouz will have to serve a minimum of 25 years in prison before being able to request parole.
