(Boursier.com) — Rail users will start the year with an increase in prices… In a press release published this Tuesday, the SNCF unveiled the revision of its price list, which will come into force on Wednesday January 8, and thus intends to “finance its investments” while guaranteeing “an offer accessible to as many people as possible”. The increase, limited to 1.5% on average for the TGV Inoui and Ouigo, aligns with inflation forecasts for 2025.

“Overall, in 2025, 1 in 2 leisure tickets (TGV Inoui and Ouigo) should be purchased for less than 47 euros, all classes and fares combined. 3 in 4 high-speed customers will continue to benefit from a reduced price (Ouigo, Advantage card, promotional offers)”, specifies the railway company.

Low prices remain intact. The SNCF has taken care to preserve the minimum fares for TGV Inoui and Ouigo, allowing travelers to continue to benefit from tickets from 10 or 19 euros, particularly during sales openings. The conditions of the Avantage and Liberté cards, as well as their prices, also remain unchanged, as do the prices of leisure and Max Jeune/Senior subscriptions.

An average increase of 1.9% for Intercity trains

For Intercity trains, the increase will be slightly greater, with an average increase of 1.9% validated by the State, the organizing authority for the territory’s balance trains. Concerning the Junior & Cie service, the ticket price will increase by an average of 3 euros depending on the destinations, with a reassessed package of 1 euro. Children with a Large Family card retain their usual reduction, while holders of Avantage or Liberté cards continue to benefit from a 15% reduction on the package.

For Max Actif and Max Actif+ subscriptions, which concern 20,000 customers, you will have to wait until April 1, 2025 to see the monthly payments increase by 4% on average. Furthermore, to optimize the availability of places, the number of possible reservations will be limited to two per day.

Furthermore, SNCF has confirmed that, since January 1, 2025, paper holiday vouchers are no longer accepted, but can be scanned to purchase tickets online. The conditions for exchange and reimbursement of TGV Inoui, Ouigo and Intercités tickets remain unchanged.
