Croatian skier Zrinka Ljutic scored a second consecutive victory in the women’s slalom World Cup and took the lead in the rankings.
The 20-year-old Ljutic won her first title in Semmering, Austria, last week, and followed that up with her triumph in Kranjska Gora on Sunday.
In the first run, Ljutic clocked 50.82 seconds, the best in this segment tied with Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener. During the second round, Zlutic beat Holdener by 16 hundredths of a second, for a cumulative time of one minute 39.62 seconds, ahead of Holdener.
Swede Anna Swenn Larsson completed the podium, 1.19 seconds behind the winner.
In the absence of American star Mikaela Shiffrin, injured in the abdomen, Ljutic took the lead in the discipline ranking with 309 points, four ahead of Swiss Camille Rast, who finished fourth, 1.36 seconds behind the Croatian.
Ljutic leads the general classification with 456 points, nine ahead of Swede Sara Hector, ranked sixth on Sunday, the day after her triumph in the giant slalom, also in Kranjska Gora.
Canadian Kiki Alexander (54.47 seconds) failed to qualify for the second run while Amelia Smart only finished the first.
