In a late match of the 12th day of La Liga rich in twists and turns, Real Madrid overthrew Valencia with a score of 2-1, even playing at 10 against 11 at the end of the match after the expulsion of Vinicius Jr. This victory allows for the Madrilenians to temporarily take the lead in the championship.

The meeting, played this Friday evening, started badly for Carlo Ancelotti’s men. Despite a gala offensive quartet made up of Mbappé, Vinicius, Rodrygo and Bellingham, Real Madrid showed a muddled face in the first period. Valencia, fighting to maintain their position, opened the scoring in the 28th minute through Hugo Duro, taking advantage of a save by Courtois on a Guerra strike.

In the second half, Real Madrid came back with better intentions. Kylian Mbappé was more enterprising and won a penalty in the 55th minute. Unfortunately for the Madrilenians, Jude Bellingham saw his attempt repelled by the post. The young Englishman thought he would make up for it by offering a goal to Mbappé a few moments later, but the French striker was flagged offside.

The situation became even more complicated for Real Madrid in the 78th minute with the expulsion of Vinicius Jr. However, just when the scenario seemed sealed, an incredible turnaround occurred. In the 86th minute, Luka Modric, who came on as a substitute, equalized with a superb strike from the outside of his foot following a pass from Bellingham. Then, in the final moments of the match (90th+6), a restart error from Valencia benefited Jude Bellingham, who scored the winning goal. In the process, Valencia almost equalized, but Rioja’s shot hit the crossbar.

With this victory, Real Madrid takes the lead in La Liga while awaiting the late match at Atlético Madrid.
