A pleasant watch to wear
The Amazfit GTS 2 is a connected watch with a square case, which is reminiscent of that of the Apple Watch. The screen is curved on all sides and framed with rounded borders. On the wrist, this discreet and thin smartwatch is really pleasant. The finishes are well cared for, and the GTS 2 also has the clear advantage of being 5 ATM certified: it is therefore waterproof and withstands a pressure of 50 meters depth.
Regarding its screen, the Amazfit GTS 2 has a 1.65-inch Amoled panel with a resolution of 341 ppi. A brightness sensor is also present, and is very convincing. Always-On mode is also included. Furthermore, the Amazfit GTS 2 interacts with your smartphone via the Zepp application, compatible with iOS and Android, but unfortunately, we considered it a little too cluttered and muddled, with too many inputs; difficult to find your way…
Complete activity tracking
In terms of functionality, the Amazfit GTS 2 is a little limited. It does offer the display of the weather and notifications as well as voice calls, but it prevents us from installing third-party applications or making contactless payment. On the other hand, where it is truly complete is in health and activity monitoring. Tracking heart rate, number of steps, sleep, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2)… Almost everything is there. However, it does not offer an electrocardiogram, but given its price, this is not really surprising. In terms of physical activity, the Amazfit GTS 2 can recognize a dozen disciplines. Runners will also be able to use the integrated GPS, but it is seriously lacking in precision…
Finally, in terms of autonomy, the Amazfit GTS 2 lasted four full days during our test before running out of battery. A good result, therefore. Furthermore, by activating GPS tracking for 30 minutes, the watch lost 4% of battery, going from 100 to 96%. In terms of recharging, allow around 1h30 to go from 0 to 100% battery.
