© InfOccitanie: the deconstruction of the Aqualuna swimming pool is soon to be completed.
It is a project which takes place in two-stroke. The objective? Build a large-scale aquatic complex that can accommodate more people for school learning, sports associations and leisure activities. This new building will take the place of the Aqualuna swimming pool, closed since March 24, 2023.
A first phase soon to be completed
Started at the beginning of November, the deconstruction of the Aqualuna swimming pool is part of the first phase of this important project. This stage should end in mid-February. First of all, the cleaning of the buildings was carried out, that is to say, removing and sorting the construction equipment and materials. Then, the SDIS was able to recover the water from the basins after the latter had been drained once the pumps had stopped. Today, this phase is in its third, most visual stage: demolition of structure and infrastructure. Once this has been achieved, the plot can be cleaned up and the land leveled in order to begin the second phase of construction of the complex. This second phase should last 17 months.
