Like Emmanuel Macron, Prince Albert II of Monaco did not escape his duties and pronounced his traditional end-of-year speech, Tuesday, December 31. A message recorded from the Guard Room of the Prince's Palace during which the Monegasque sovereign sent his good wishes to the population. “The past year has been marked by challenges, but also bymany successes and unwavering solidarity which characterize our Monegasque community”, he declared in particular when taking stock of this exercise.
But this speech focused on the importance of common values was punctuated by the surprise appearance of the head of state's small family. If Princess Charlene has the habit of joining him in the middle of a speech, their twins Jacques and Gabriella this time made an appearance. “In this moment of celebration and sharing, our children join us in sending you our best wishes. May this new year bring happiness, health and success to you and to all those who are dear to you.” thus underlined his serene highness at the end of his text. All in unison, they then sent their wishes expressed in three different languages, in French, English and Monegasque: “Happy new year, happy new year, bon anu noevu!”
Children increasingly involved in the Principality
The appearance of the twins comes a few weeks after the sovereign's interview granted to Monaco Morning, during which he revealed details about the education and passions of his children, all just 10 years old. “They are growing beautifully. They are curious about everything. They ask more and more questions and their personality asserts itself. It's great to be able to experience this up close.” he confided, specifying to be careful not to place too much responsibility on their shoulders.
