The National Wrestling Management Committee (CNG) has announced new measures for the 2024-2025 season. During a press briefing organized at the national arena last week, the new president of the body, Malick Ngom, presented nine major measures.

The president of the CNG detailed these nine measures, aimed at strengthening the organization and development of Senegalese wrestling for the year 2025. Here are the main decisions:

1. Financial sanctions will be distributed as follows: promoters will receive 30% of the amount of sanctions incurred during their fights, while the CNG will retain the remaining 70%.

2. The minimum amount of fees for wrestlers during Sunday days will now be 200,000 FCFA.

3. Use of fire: Wrestlers will have the possibility of using fire, provided they do not do so in prohibited areas of the stadium.

4. The obligation to sign specific regulations: The CNG now asks the wrestler to sign specific regulations during the CLAF in the presence of his manager and the promoter.

5. The absence of wrestlers during face-to-face matches: In order to prevent the absence of wrestlers during face-to-face matches, the promoters must be in agreement with the wrestlers before the arbitration.

6. Scope of VAR: Video refereeing (VAR) technology will now be available to everyone. While waiting for the necessary resources to acquire specific CNG equipment, the referees will work in collaboration with the YouTube channels on site.

7. Cooperation for the health of wrestlers: The CNG will collaborate with the Department of Social Action in order to provide assistance to wrestlers regarding their health.

8. Wrestlers can benefit from professional training thanks to the association of the CNG with the National Center for Professional Qualification (CNQP). The professions chosen for these training courses will be communicated by the CNG from February 2025.

9. A night of wrestling will be set up to reward the best actors in Senegalese wrestling of the year.
