Former third row Dylan Hayes, sentenced on December 13 to two years in prison for “failure to prevent a crime” in the context of the trial for gang rape of five former Grenoble players.

Sentenced to two years in prison for “failure to prevent a crime” in the case of former Grenoble players tried at the beginning of the month at the Assize Court for gang rape or failure to prevent a felony, Dylan Hayes confirmed through his attorney Tuesday that he would not appeal the decision.

Dylan Hayes' lawyer, Me Arnaud Lucien, still disputes the guilt of his client, who today prefers to “move forward”. He did not have sexual intercourse with the victim but his lack of help when he entered the room where the events took place was held against him by the courts.

The other convicts appealed

Before him, it was Chris Farrell, sentenced to four years in prison, two of which were suspended, and to wear an electronic bracelet, who assured on December 19 that he had chosen not to appeal this decision to film the page. He and Hayes emerged free from the trial, unlike Loïck Jammes, Denis Coulson and Rory Grice, sentenced to sentences of 12 to 14 years of criminal imprisonment for having gang raped a young woman, in 2017 in , after a very drunk who followed a Top 14 match.

The three men, incarcerated at the remand center, decided to appeal and made a request for release, which will be ruled at the end of January by the Bordeaux investigating chamber. There will therefore be another trial in this case.
