RC Lens supporters are not experiencing as exciting a season as the previous three, but they are still as loyal. The early elimination in the European Cup against Panathinaikos or the fact that Will Still's men experienced big gaps in the second half which cost them points did not dampen their enthusiasm. Quite the contrary. They continue to fill Bollaert to the hilt, with a string of sold-out crowds. Which logically earned them pole position in terms of occupancy rate at the end of the first part of the season.
99% fill rate
The Sportune website has published statistics. With 37,831 spectators, RC Lens has an average of… ten people higher than last year. Above all, it displays a fill rate of 99%, the maximum possible. Only RC Strasbourg and PSG are doing as well.
Eight L1 clubs out of 18 exceed 90% occupancy rate. Proof that the French championship is doing well in terms of attendance, even though the suspense for the title is completely absent and the repression in the stands is still as fierce…
