Théo Leoni is now one of the darlings of the Anderlecht public. However, his integration into the first team was late.
Théo Leoni is in his second season as a starter at Anderlecht. The midfielder is the willing type in the midfield and never hesitates to loudly proclaim his love for the club.
A year ago, however, questions were being asked about his success within the first team. At 23, he played more with RSCA Futures in D1B than with core A.
The call from abroad
But the summer of 2023 changed everything for him: Brian Riemer gave him his chance as a starter and Leoni practically never left the team. His first season was dazzling with 5 goals and 7 assists in the Pro League.
Het Nieuwsblad reports that Toulouse were impressed by his fanfare debut and tried to sign him at the end of the summer, a few weeks after he established himself. Problem: the French club only offered 250,000 euros, an offer obviously refused by Sporting.
The amount was even lower than its value when it was trading with RSCA Futures. He is now valued at five million by Transfermarkt.
