MAXI-SHEET RELIABILITY. Presented in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Tesla Model In France, the first deliveries took place in the fall of 2016. This enormous 5.05 m long SUV has been traveling the roads of France for 8 years. And not really in numbers, its sales figures in France being modest.
It must be said that the base price was €87,440 at launch, with a “small” 60 kWh battery. And the high-end Performance dual motor with large 100 kWh battery cost almost €160,000!
Equipped with 7 seats as standard (a 6-seater configuration also exists), the Model Y also and above all impresses with its articulated rear doors which open in a “butterfly” fashion, even if Elon Musk prefers to speak of opening in “falcon” mode (falcon). Guaranteed effect. It also offers enormous volumes and in particular a cumulative trunk volume, between the rear compartment and the frunk, of 1,140 liters in the 7-seater version with the third row bench folded, and another 608 liters cumulative (183 liters in front, 425 liters behind ) when all 7 places are used. With all seats folded, we can increase to 2,487 liters.
It is also comfortable, very well equipped, like all Teslas, and with impressive technological content. It of course uses the AutoPilot of the Model S, and its semi-autonomous driving, advanced at the time, but less impressive today.
The performances, despite a weight greater than 2.4 tonnes for certain versions, are formidable, in particular for the “Performance” and “Plaid”, with 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds, or even 2.6 seconds. Even the current basic version “High autonomy” announces 3.9 s. Values that fine the most powerful Lamborghini Urus or Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
Finally, on the reliability side, if there are any problems with the rear doors, electronics or gimbals, overall, it’s not so bad, as you will be able to see. We cannot therefore say, to respond to the title, that it is the worst of the Tesla models, even if the Y and 3 are even better. The worst is actually the Model S…
